À propos de cet audio
For Kip, growing up in shadow of the human men-only Prince George's College of Sorcery has been 19 years of frustration. Magic comes naturally to him, yet he's not allowed to study sorcery because he's a Calatian - one of a magically created race of animal people. But when a mysterious attack leaves the masters desperate for apprentices, they throw their doors open, giving Kip his chance.
As he fights to prove his worth to the human sorcerers, he encounters other oddities: a voice that speaks only to him, a book that makes people forget he's there, and one of the masters who will only speak to him through a raven. Greater than any of those mysteries or even whether the College's attacker will return to finish the job is the mystery of how Kip and his friends can prove that this place is where they belong…

An Intriguing Debut, But Temper Your Expectations
I'm very happy to see more of this author's work on Audible. Seeing as the second book in this series is already out (and a third is in production) I'm very much interested to see where this story goes.
The second third of the book does feel like it drags on a bit without very much of substance happening. Also I have to say, very little of the plot was surprising or unexpected, and there are a fair few one-dimensional characters. While this book isn't the most engrossing or even the author's best work, it is a solid story, and it may just be the foundation for a great one.
Tim Susman has another pen name of which he's written under for years; I will not reveal it in this review since I can only make assumptions about his reasons for using an alt pen name. That being said, he does give it away on his website, and at the end of this book.
