13-Feeling Shame from Childhood Trauma? Two Ways Everlasting Father Lavishes His Love to Heal Us

  • Résumé

  • Have you ever felt anxiety or shame from childhood trauma? Or feared God like He was a judge who would strike you down if you messed up? After the abuse occurred with a neighbor when I was five, I felt ashamed, as I reverted to wetting my bed. I became withdrawn. I trembled, always anxious when thunder rumbled, and storms blew through the town where I lived. I wished my parents would have comforted me. God seemed distant. It’s taken me decades to understand that God is more like a dad, a Father who loves me. He calls me beloved. And He calls you beloved, too. He loves you unconditionally, embracing you with grace and helping to heal trauma.
