  • We have been conditioned from an early age to view failure as a bad thing. Think back to elementary school or any formal education institution. Failure was viewed as a bad thing. I know many times when I failed and saw the big “F” on my homework or an exam and I quickly hid it. I didn’t want anyone to see what was really going on. At the same time I was mortified and embarrassed, the highest grade and all the “A” student were getting all the accolades.

What I have come to learn is if someone, a teacher, mentor, etc., would have sat with me and dug into the failure, we would have discovered early on that I was very capable, I just didn’t know how to study. It wasn’t until I was in college that someone took the time to help me look at the failures and learn from them. Extract what was really happening and learning from those previous failures allowed me to go onto University and actually make the Dean’s list my Sophomore, Junior and Senior year.

My question to you is, where are you failing that you are avoiding the feedback that is right Infront of you. The gold nuggets that are buried in the data of the failure.
