The 2025 Greenlandic general election, set for no later than April 6, will determine the 31 members of the Inatsisartut, with independence from Denmark as the central issue. Greenland's government is actively pursuing statehood and may hold a referendum alongside the election. President-elect Trump’s renewed interest in acquiring Greenland has heightened global attention, prompting Prime Minister Múte Egede to call for reforms in Greenland’s relationship with Denmark while rejecting U.S. annexation. Although Greenland has rich mineral resources, it remains financially dependent on Denmark, which controls its foreign and defense policy. The election is expected to shape Greenland’s future.

  • Trump’s Deportation Airlines: Now Boarding One-Way Flights to Anywhere but Here!

President Trump has launched a large-scale deportation operation using military aircraft, resulting in over 1,000 removals and 538 arrests, including individuals with criminal records and gang affiliations. The administration calls it the "largest deportation operation in history." Trump also signed the Laken Riley Act, mandating detention for undocumented immigrants accused of serious crimes and allowing states to sue the Department of Homeland Security for enforcement failures. Additionally, plans are underway to house up to 30,000 "criminal migrants" at Guantanamo Bay in a separate facility from terrorist detainees, serving as a temporary holding site until deportation arrangements are made.

  • Raids, Ramps, and Sanctuary Cities: The Immigration Rollercoaster Under Trump
    Jan 29 2025

    Send us a text

In the early weeks of the Trump administration, immigration raids and deportations have sharply increased across the U.S. Federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are conducting targeted operations, with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stating that the administration considers all undocumented immigrants to be criminals.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has partnered with agencies such as the FBI, DEA, and ATF to carry out these operations. Raids have taken place in states including Texas, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, New Jersey, New York, and California. In New York City, the focus of some raids was on individuals allegedly connected to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. Those arrested included individuals wanted for violent crimes such as burglary, kidnapping, and possession of firearms. Notably, the administration has expanded its focus to include all individuals in the country without legal status, not just those with criminal records.

Cities like Chicago, designated as "sanctuary cities," have policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement actions. This approach has drawn significant criticism, especially over concerns about the treatment of migrants and the practice of family separations.

  • Gold, Explosives, and a Burned Getaway Car: The Great Museum Heist of 2025!
    Jan 27 2025

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, thieves orchestrated a daring heist at the Drents Museum in Assen, Netherlands, using explosives to breach the building and steal priceless artifacts from the "Dacia - Empire of Gold and Silver" exhibition. Among the stolen treasures were the gold Helmet of Coțofenești, dating back to around 450 BC, and three gold Dacian bracelets from approximately 50 BC. These artifacts were on loan from the National History Museum of Romania and were highly significant cultural treasures. The exhibition was scheduled to conclude the following day.

The Helmet of Coțofenești is particularly renowned for its intricate design, featuring mythological scenes, and its exceptional state of preservation. The gold bracelets are believed to have originated from Sarmizegetusa Regia, the ancient Dacian capital, further underscoring their historical and cultural importance.

The theft has been described as a devastating loss for both the Drents Museum and the Romanian people. Authorities, in collaboration with Interpol, are investigating the crime. The suspects reportedly used a stolen gray car, which was later found burned. As a result of the heist, the museum has been closed until further notice.

  • Planes, Raids, and ID Drama: U.S Immigration’s Wild Ride Through Trump’s Deportation Agenda
    Jan 27 2025

    Send us a text

In response to President Trump's mass deportation policies, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has intensified enforcement efforts, resulting in the arrests and detentions of both undocumented immigrants and U.S. citizens. Concerns have emerged over reports of ICE detaining Native Americans, with tribal leaders warning their communities to carry identification. Some claim that ICE agents fail to recognize tribal documents as valid proof of citizenship, further fueling criticisms of the agency’s actions. Notably, U.S. citizens, including a military veteran, have reportedly been detained, drawing sharp criticism of racial profiling by the agency.

Resistance to the Trump administration’s deportation efforts has also surfaced internationally. Colombia initially refused to accept deportees on U.S. military flights, prompting a trade dispute that led to the imposition of tariffs by the U.S. The dispute was eventually resolved, with Colombia agreeing to accept the flights. Similarly, Mexico rejected a U.S. military deportation flight, while Brazil condemned the "degrading treatment" of its deported citizens, citing reports of deportees being handcuffed during flights.

Domestically, ICE raids have been conducted in cities such as Chicago, Denver, and Miami, sparking outrage and legal challenges. In Chicago, local advocacy groups have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration, opposing its deportation policies and the broader implications of its immigration enforcement strategies.

    Jan 23 2025

Donald Trump's return to the White House has been marked by several noteworthy actions, including his surprising foray into the cryptocurrency market. The launch of a cryptocurrency called $TRUMP quickly skyrocketed to a market value of $10 billion. Following suit, Melania Trump introduced $MELANIA, which surpassed $1 billion in market value. The Trump family’s bold entry into the crypto world has fueled a broader rally across the market, with Bitcoin reaching an all-time high of $109,071.86.

In his first months back in office, President Trump issued executive orders that included the termination of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs within the federal government. On the international front, he reinstated tariffs on goods imported from Canada, Mexico, and China, while also threatening new tariffs on Russia—moves that have elicited mixed reactions from global leaders, including NATO’s Secretary General.

Trump has also made headlines by granting pardons to nearly 1,600 individuals convicted or charged in connection with the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. Additionally, he announced the Stargate Initiative, a groundbreaking $500 billion private-sector partnership aimed at expanding the United States' artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Donald Trump’s second term began with sweeping executive orders aimed at overturning President Biden’s policies and fulfilling campaign promises. Notable actions included a federal hiring freeze (excluding national security and immigration), the elimination of DEI programs, and an order to end birthright citizenship, which has sparked legal challenges. Trump also suspended refugee admissions and declared a national emergency at the southern border. On trade, he proposed steep tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, unsettling global markets. While some nations, like China and Russia, welcomed his return, European leaders expressed concern. The absence of cryptocurrency policy announcements disappointed that sector.
