Hey its Ana here and I'm excited to share the next episode of the Entrepreneur in Flow Podcast where I interview accomplished entrepreneur, Andrew David
founder of Methodworks Production Ltd. Film & Video Production.
Initially studying all of the Sciences at college, Andrew made a radical decision to drop out to reconsider his life's journey. He returned a year later and took Media Studies to embark on a path towards film production, believing that visual communication is a powerful tool that will continue to grow and expand.
The name and phrase of Methodworks was coined at the turn of the century as a guise for a project he was working on as part of his coursework. There was yet an indication of something bigger on the horizon yet the process of creating the name (which was more than just a name) was fundamental in seeding what would later become a deep philosophy. Following five years at college, Andrew began visualizing the company whilst studying a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Video Production at University.
He understood the importance of organization and communication in both the creative and business processes and through freelance work, often noticed how companies were missing these important yet fundamental elements by simply not having the aligned methods and systems in place both internally and externally to the business.
He also noticed that a lot of established companies had lost sight of their own original purpose, what once made them unique, they'd lost their own vision. This sparked the birth of the Method.

Continuing his studies with a Masters in Real Time Media Broadcasting, following his graduation, Andrew found a job in media research and so began building the foundations of the business whilst maintaining a full-time job.
He borrowed money from a friend to purchase a professional broadcast camera, and from his bedroom with nothing more than a laptop and the Internet, he began freelancing and building the companies systems, drafting documents and creating a portfolio of work in the evenings and at weekends. As the philosophy began forming, branding became essential to identify the independent films Andrew was producing at University. The first logo, incorporating the name of the company, was to look like handwritten chalk on a chalkboard, with the joining of the M and W to represent the flow of energy or the journey of production.
