Ep. 88 Yusef Fitzgerald. Today on the Agee & Gates Podcast, Atlanta native Yusef Fitzgerald, Athletic Director and Coach at the historic, college prep school, Piney Woods. The Piney Woods School was founded in 1909 in rural Mississippi by Dr. Laurence C. Jones as an all black boarding school with the mission to educate and prepare students for leadership positions. Yusef was a stand-out high school player at Piney Woods where his team went 72-10 and won back-to-back state championships during his high school career. He went on to play college ball at Tougaloo before starting his coaching career. Yusef coached at the prestigious IMG Academy, at the high school and AAU level in Chicago and served as Director of Operations at Iona University before returning to coach at The Piney Woods School.
