“No, Lord,” Peter declared. “I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean.”
But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”

Peter and many of the earliest Christians didn’t believe Gentiles could really be Christians unless they were willing to live under customs, traditions, laws, and understanding of Scripture that they already had. Peter’s vision showed him that God has other plans.
Many Christians both over the centuries and today have the same mindset. They think these other folks aren’t really Christians if they don’t think, believe, and act as they do.
This century’s Gentile Christians are LGBTQ Christians. Many Christians believe these folks must be excluded from the community. But God has other plans.
Don’t call anyone unclean who God has made clean. God’s love is bigger than that.
