    I'm all about setting goals, as long as they include Holy Spirit confirmation. How many goals and resolutions have you set without first consulting God?

    I wholeheartedly believe you SHOULD be setting goals, according to scripture, of course. What does God say?

    I'd like to encourage to not set a weight loss resolution and instead ask God what you actually need to work on.

    What I've found in almost eight years of coaching women is that they don't often need to lose weight, they need to eat better, sleep better, drink more water or move more, they need a better routine and time management.

    Set SMART Goals, this is what we work on in the Biblical Weight Loss Framework, listing and praying over them.

    We should have goals; we just should seek God's will instead of our own.

  • Struggling With Boundaries? 2 Steps to own Your Goals This Year

    Do people constantly have something to say about your weight or weight loss journey? It's time to bless and release. Your duty above all is to be oebedient to the Holy Spirit. If God calls you to eat less sugar, obey. If He calls you to move more or stop dieting, listen. When you listen to His leading and guiding, not sneaky aunt Sally who's always commenting on your weight, you will win.

    Sometimes we need to set boundaries with others, I know I have. Sometimes you need to set boundaries with yourself. Operating in a heart posture of discerning the Holy Spirit is how you'll always win, regardless of anyone else's opinion.

    Ask Him if you need to set boundaries with yourself. In the Biblical Weight Loss Framework month2 we work on Nutrition and the women always struggle with eating all their food, they're afraid of weight gain instead of fueling properly.

    Obedience to His word over the outcome of weight loss always leads to a win!

  • 3 Truths About Weight Loss and Why the Internet ISN'T Helping

    How many weight loss ads have you been delivered today? This year? Our weight loss is constantly thrown in our faces, so how do we seek God's truth and block out the noise? Here are 3 truths to cling to.

    1. Losing weight, sustainable weight takes TIME. It could take a year or two to lose the weight you've gained. There is NO SUCH THING as a quick fix. We must fix the junk in our mind if we want to truly allow God to heal us from the inside out.

    2. Your phone isn't helping. PUT IT DOWN. Comparison, covetedness, judgement, envy, we spend money on weight loss products we can't afford or haven't prayed over. Ask God to lead you to where He needs you to go then trust He will provide IF you walk in faithful obedience.

    3. You will NEVER keep the weight off or lose it in the first place if you can't love yourself TODAY as you are. I've seen it a million times. I've experienced it in my own personal journey. Seeing ourselves through the mind of Christ and being obedient to the Holy Spirit in our choices is the ONLY way to truly reach our goals.

    We obey His still small voice, and we move intentionally as He directs. We begin to heal our thoughts, then our bodies and pretty soon we don't even care about weight loss, it's just a nice by product from our obedience.

  • 6 Secrets to Love Exercise as a Woman Struggling with Motivation
    Dec 16 2024

    Motivation doesn't actually exist in my opinion. I believe you have a drive to get healthy, but it's discipline that gets you there. Here are 6 ways to build a habit of exercise when you're struggling to even start.

    1. Find one you actually enjoy! If you're doing the newest popular workout and hate it, stop! Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, it is NOT a punishment. There are so my styles of workouts; dance cardio, yoga, Pilates, weights, body weight. I have recently fallen in LOVE with primal/yoga workouts and am doing a 20-minute program that has completely changed my life AND my body. So, find something you love, it should leave you sore and struggling, but not dreading the next one.

    2. Start with 1-2 days. I've worked with women for years who have an all or nothing mindset, I operated in that for years and still struggle at times. But it never works, pick 1-2 days to start at a time that makes you feel good. Let's leave old habits that don't serve us!

    3. Find the time that works in your schedule and schedule it like a hair appointment you would never miss! Maybe ask God to give you the right time and He will! I started working out in the evening but found I ate better if I did mornings, so I practiced my morning routine and now that's what works. Find yours!

    4. ONE workout at a time. Did you hear me? ONE! One workout, one day at a time. We're remove the all or nothing mindset and remember that God's word says to not focus on tomorrow. What CAN you do today? That is enough! Pray for His strength, not yours.

    5. Workout when sore or you'll be MORE sore. The calendar I follow is created to bust out lactic acid so if you do leg day one day and cardio is the next, do it. It may be a struggle at first, but by the end you'll feel a million times better! I tell my students to trust the process!

    6. 30 minutes is all you need. Going to the gym, overtraining for an hour will never help you build consistency. I prefer at home workouts, it's how I've built consistency. Again, do what works for you, but all you need is a good sweat in 30 minutes. Do NOT overtrain.

  • Planning Hack- 4 Ways to Take Control of Your Schedule

    Are you struggling to get everything done? Are you especially stressing this holiday season? Here are 4 ways to take back your schedule so you can stay on track with your weight loss goals, even through the Christmas season.

    1. Plan your month. Get a monthly calendar and schedule everything. Then break it down week by week. This will help you see what you MUST do and add in the empty pockets as you wish.

    2. Schedule rest. My students think I'm crazy when I tell them this but most of them don't make time to rest, like ever. God calls us clearly in His word to keep the Sabbath HOLY. We're not doing laundry or cleaning, we're at church, we're spending time with people we love, serving, focusing on HIM. I don't care what day you do it, but DO IT. It is written.

    3. Learn to say "no thank you" or "i have plans" even if your plan is scheduled rest, it's STILL scheduled. If Susie calls you Saturday to meet for lunch but you've planned to rest, take a rain check, she will understand.

    4. What do you actually want to do or feel called to do? It's ok to start new traditions or say no thanks to a party that will make you sacrifice your God-given convictions. Your only duty in this life is to live for Jesus, you shouldn't be justifying your plans to anyone but Him.

    Ask God to lead you where HE needs you then have the strength and courage to walk in faithful obedience. Time is our most PRECIOUS commodity, spend it wisely.

  • Struggling With Waking Up? Here are 4 Steps to Create a Biblical Mindset Around Discipline in Your Morning Routine

    Are you struggling to wake up when the alarm goes off? You're not alone. Here are 4 things you can do to create a biblical mindset around your morning routine.

    1. Prepare the night before, pack lunches, prep coffee, set out your workout clothes and work outfit. Pray, ask God to give you His strength to rise with GRATITUDE for another day as the alarm goes off.

    2. Pick 1-2 days a week to start. I started with Wednesday and Friday when I decided to take control of my mornings. I didn't want to all or nothing 5 days a week, that never works. 1-2 was sustainable and I started with 10-15 minutes at a time.

    3. Mel Robbins, watch her TED talk on how to stop screwing yourself over. I also recommend reading 5 Second Rule, it changed my life and helped MAKE me a morning person but also take action in other areas of my life.

    4. Spend your first moments with Jesus. If you want God to give you His best then it's time to offer Him the same. He gets our first fruits of time in the mornign, not our lukewarm leftovers at the end of the day. If you want discipline, seek His will daily. Discipline is a fruit of the spirit; you just need to cultivate it a bit.

    If you truly want to make the most out of your morning routine, PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN. You should have to get out of bed to shiut off your phone if it's your alarm. 15 steps minimum. Then don't touch it until your prayer, reading and journaling is done. Social media is distracting you and making you less productive. Email can wait, Jesus shouldn't have to.

    I am guilty and still struggle with all of these, thankfully His mercies are new each day. Pray. Ask Him for help and He WILL show up for you, then it's your call to walk in faithful obedience. You can do this!

    Tis the season to be grateful, for the birth of our Savior and all our blessings. Here are a few ways you can stay on track this Christmas season:

    1. Have a morning routine, start with 1-2 days a week, 10 minutes earlier. Pray, Ask God to fill you with a heart of gratitude.

    2. Have a plan, what's one thing you can do today? Drink water. Move. What CAN you do?

    3. Release the weight loss goal or vanity metric, it won't keep you going when life gets hard. Focus on Jesus and operating in Holy Spirit obedience. When we work to be obedient to the Holy Spirit, our journey becomes outward focused instead of inward.
