  • What is it About Paradoxes?
    Mar 6 2025

In this episode, I do a deep dive into what paradoxes are—and what they are not—as well as why I chose this word as the title for my book and podcast.

The Mom's Adventure Paradox is more than just a name; it’s a rally cry to do the deeper inner work. I explore how paradoxes show up in life, using my own experiences with skiing injuries, motherhood, and fitness to illustrate their unexpected twists.

One powerful example is the idea that youth is wasted on the young. I moved to Jackson Hole in my 20s to ski before my knees aged—only to suffer injuries that completely changed my journey. Ironically, pregnancy later healed my knee, showing me firsthand how life’s contradictions often shape our paths in ways we never expect.

Growth happens when we lean into life’s contradictions—so pause, reflect, and keep going. Your adventure is unfolding.

If this episode resonated with you, I’d love for you to leave a review, reach out, or continue the conversation!

    Show Notes:

AI overview of a paradox: a statement or situation that seems to contradict itself, but may still be true. It can also refer to a person or thing with contradictory qualities.

  • Who is Cat Caldwell Myers
    Mar 4 2025

In this minisode of Mom’s Adventure Paradox, I dive into the idea of introductions, reintroductions, and how we present ourselves to the world. I explore my own journey of introducing and reintroducing myself, recognizing that who I am is always evolving.

I also touch on the importance of connection. Every conversation, every introduction, every exchange transforms us. We are never the same person twice, just as we can never step into the same river twice. Life is a series of introductions and reintroductions, and embracing this process allows us to grow.

Where are you holding yourself back? Where are you afraid to introduce yourself, to step forward, to claim space?

Introducing ourselves is not just about how others perceive us. It’s about being present with ourselves, embracing who we are in each moment, and recognizing that we are enough as we are.

My name is Cat, and I love connecting with moms who, I believe, are always thinking about the next generation just as much as themselves. Many of us navigate the paradox of who we once were and the passions that have always been a part of us—for me, that’s horses. I want to be remembered for connecting people to nature through animals - to their essential nature.

  • Meeting Yourself in Times of Transition
    Feb 24 2025

Recording from a chalet in Arabba, Italy, I reflect on my Italian skiing journey, the importance of self-care, and the emotional shifts that come with travel and transitions. Waking up to church bells and a breathtaking view of the Dolomites, I embrace the need for rest and recovery after intense days on the slopes.

A simple laundry day turns into an adventure, with language barriers, a faulty machine, and a trek to an ATM. A kind Italian stranger helps me, and I find humor in sharing space with chickens. It’s a reminder to stay flexible and adapt. A beautiful experience still has it's laundry.

    Takeaways from this Episode:

    • Embracing the emotional ups and downs of transitions, including the bittersweet feeling when a great experience comes to an end.
    • Staying flexible and adaptable when unexpected changes and challenges arise.
    • Recognizing the importance of personal responsibility, whether in travel, adventure, or everyday situations.

As I prepare to ski to a hut in Lagoszo, carrying all I need, I reflect on trusting the journey. Balancing adventure with everyday tasks teaches me patience and resilience. No matter where I am, I can turn on my mic and share my story—embracing the beauty of both the highs and the in-between moments.

  • Cathy Heller's ABC's to Being Abundant Ever After
    Feb 17 2025

What if the challenges in your life were actually stepping stones to something greater? What if every setback was just a setup for your next breakthrough?

I have the honor of speaking with Cathy Heller. Cathy is a bestselling author, spiritual teacher, and host of Abundant Ever After. Her wisdom on resilience, abundance, and purpose is truly transformative.

Cathy shares her personal journey—evacuating during the LA fires, rediscovering what home truly means, and the profound lessons learned while caring for her father. She also dives into her book Abundant Ever After and how aligning with your true purpose creates abundance.

This episode is an invitation—to dream bigger, to release what no longer serves you, and to step fully into who you are meant to be. I hope you’ll take these lessons with you and let them expand your heart as much as they have mine.

    Takeaways from this episode:

    • Abundance is who you are. You don’t have to chase it—it’s already inside of you.
    • Be the rooster. Even in the darkest times, be the one who calls in the light.
    • Life will move when you move. The things you seek are often waiting for you to align with them.
    • It’s okay to let go. Sometimes, we hold on too tightly when life is asking us to release and expand.
    • Home is not a place. It’s the people, the experiences, and the energy we cultivate.
    • Manifesting isn’t about the stuff. It’s about feeling the way you want to feel now—and letting life rise to meet you.

  • Sherle Stevens on The Third Way to The Adventure of Parenting
    Feb 10 2025

I’m honored to sit down with my dear friend, Sherle Stevens, an accomplished artist, adventurer, and seeker of healing. Now at 86, Sherle has lived an extraordinary life, traveling the world, pursuing creative passions, and ultimately confronting the wounds of her past. In her deeply personal memoir, Big As The Whole Wide World: Finding Peace Beyond My Karmic Family Ties, she shares her journey through childhood trauma, estranged family relationships, toxic romantic patterns, and the spiritual insights that helped her break free.

Sherle’s story is one of resilience and transformation. She navigated single motherhood in New York City, found deep companionship in unexpected places, and embarked on the Camino pilgrimage later in life. She also discovered the power of numerology, a practice she has studied for over 50 years, to help uncover her soul’s purpose. In this conversation, Sherle offers wisdom for those struggling with unresolved family dynamics, and she introduces the idea of the “third way”—a path of healing that doesn’t require reconnection but allows for inner peace.

If you’ve ever faced family estrangement, questioned your life’s purpose, or felt drawn to a personal pilgrimage—this episode is for you.

    Takeaways:

    • It’s never too late to start something new.
    • Estrangement isn’t the only option. There is a “third way” to make peace without necessarily reconnecting.
    • Numerology offers profound insights—understanding your numbers can align you with your life’s purpose.
    • Personal pilgrimages—whether literal or metaphorical—can completely transform your life.
    • Adventure doesn’t always mean going far away; sometimes the biggest adventures bring you closer to yourself.

  • Consistency, Flow & Integrity
    Feb 4 2025

Today, I’m coming to you while icing my ankles and reflecting on three powerful themes: Consistency, Flow, and Integrity. Inspired by Do Less by Kate Northrup, I dive into the importance of honoring natural rhythms, staying committed to our goals, and finding the balance between going with the flow and staying true to our word.

My word of the year is flow, Tegrity. A beautiful portmanteau. Sometimes you're in flow, but your flow could take you out of integrity.

Exciting news! We’re working on a Mind-Body-Soul-Nature Connection Summit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming! If you’re interested or know amazing speakers, reach out!

  • Gear, Age, and Perspective
    Jan 28 2025

In this mini-sode of The Adventure Paradox Podcast, we dive into the concept of "G.A.P." — Gear, Age, and Perspective — and how these factors intersect when you're a mom who loves adventures, like skiing. Reflecting on a recent birthday trip to Big Sky, Montana, Cat discusses how skiing ties into the paradoxes we face as mothers, particularly around gear, age, and shifting perspectives.

The core theme is that perspective is key when navigating challenges, whether on the slopes or in everyday life. We also touch on how family traditions, like skiing, help create lasting memories, and how mountain culture can bring people together.

  • The R&R Principle of Moms and Caretakers
    Jan 21 2025

In the first live stream of 2025, we kick off the rebranding of Adventure Paradox into Mom’s Adventure Paradox, a space dedicated to exploring the complexities of motherhood and caregiving. Today’s episode dives into one of the most essential—and paradoxical—principles of motherhood: rest.

Rest is often seen as a four-letter word in the world of caregiving, a concept that feels almost impossible to prioritize amid endless responsibilities. Yet, the need for stillness is critical, especially when we consider how both the body and mind require recovery to rise up and meet the challenges ahead.

We draw inspiration from visionaries like Martin Luther King Jr. and Maya Angelou. We are encouraged to rise toward our goals and the power of our inner strength to rise above adversity.

We explore the balance between rest and action in our journey. Sometimes we need to pause, but like these great leaders, we also have the power to rise, keep moving forward, and chase our dreams, no matter the challenges.
