  • The Lady of Ebony
    Feb 16 2025

“THE LADY OF EBONY” is a powerful poem from my book MY WAY. THE JOURNEY FROM JOHANNESBURG TO CAPE TOWN, AS LONG AS LIFE, written and performed in my voice, MARINA E. DI CERVINI, with music composed by ALEX ALEXEEV. This poetic piece captures the essence of resilience, transformation, and self-discovery as it journeys through the heart of Africa, blending evocative imagery with timeless melody.

SARAH ANN SIMON, British ex-actress and professor of voice, shares: “MARINA E. DI CERVINI’s ‘THE LADY OF EBONY’ is a vocal masterpiece. Her words pulse with life, and her voice carries an emotional intensity that draws the listener into the landscapes she describes. The poem’s rhythm flows effortlessly, mirroring the heartbeat of Africa itself. Combined with ALEX ALEXEEV’s exquisite music, this work becomes a deeply immersive experience - a vivid journey of courage, grace, and human connection. MARINA’s ability to bring poetry to life through voice and emotion is nothing short of extraordinary.”

Soon to be brought to the screen, “THE LADY OF EBONY” will captivate audiences with its unique fusion of poetry, music, and visual storytelling.

  • Echoes beyond the soul
    Feb 16 2025

The musical piece "Echoes beyond the soul" with lyrics by M.E. di Cervini and music by A. Alexeev.

You wished to hear my verses speak,

I longed for them to truly leak.

Not just their pain for you to seek,

But beyond words, where souls peek.

I loved as swans at sunset glide,

Across the lake, in grace they slide.

I loved as rain, outside, provides

Relief from cares, where hope resides.

It eases me, your presence near,

From snow's embrace, you shield, you clear.

Days and nights, they swiftly veer,

Alone I'm not, with you here. Why fear?

This question's weight, hard to bear,

Life's swift passage, raw and bare.

But one truth in the soul does flare,

Only the heart that loves can dare.

To hold a dream with tender care,

To be with you, a pair so rare.

Not just in gaze or fleeting stare,

But in a love that's ever there.

It's in the waking, eyes meet, share

A peaceful smile, in morning air.

I seek one who can truly bare,

To see the world in me, to dare.

To dive, to hide in love's repair,

Your strength, a refuge from despair.

My verses wished to make you aware,

Not just of pain, but of the care,

Behind them - the soul laid bare.

The poem serves as a deeply personal tribute written by Marina as a daughter, expressing profound gratitude and reverence for the wisdom, strength, and unwavering love her mother imparted throughout her life.
