  • The Lady of Ebony
    Feb 16 2025

“THE LADY OF EBONY” is a powerful poem from my book MY WAY. THE JOURNEY FROM JOHANNESBURG TO CAPE TOWN, AS LONG AS LIFE, written and performed in my voice, MARINA E. DI CERVINI, with music composed by ALEX ALEXEEV. This poetic piece captures the essence of resilience, transformation, and self-discovery as it journeys through the heart of Africa, blending evocative imagery with timeless melody.

SARAH ANN SIMON, British ex-actress and professor of voice, shares: “MARINA E. DI CERVINI’s ‘THE LADY OF EBONY’ is a vocal masterpiece. Her words pulse with life, and her voice carries an emotional intensity that draws the listener into the landscapes she describes. The poem’s rhythm flows effortlessly, mirroring the heartbeat of Africa itself. Combined with ALEX ALEXEEV’s exquisite music, this work becomes a deeply immersive experience - a vivid journey of courage, grace, and human connection. MARINA’s ability to bring poetry to life through voice and emotion is nothing short of extraordinary.”

Soon to be brought to the screen, “THE LADY OF EBONY” will captivate audiences with its unique fusion of poetry, music, and visual storytelling.

  • Echoes beyond the soul
    Feb 16 2025

The musical piece "Echoes beyond the soul" with lyrics by M.E. di Cervini and music by A. Alexeev.

You wished to hear my verses speak,

I longed for them to truly leak.

Not just their pain for you to seek,

But beyond words, where souls peek.

I loved as swans at sunset glide,

Across the lake, in grace they slide.

I loved as rain, outside, provides

Relief from cares, where hope resides.

It eases me, your presence near,

From snow's embrace, you shield, you clear.

Days and nights, they swiftly veer,

Alone I'm not, with you here. Why fear?

This question's weight, hard to bear,

Life's swift passage, raw and bare.

But one truth in the soul does flare,

Only the heart that loves can dare.

To hold a dream with tender care,

To be with you, a pair so rare.

Not just in gaze or fleeting stare,

But in a love that's ever there.

It's in the waking, eyes meet, share

A peaceful smile, in morning air.

I seek one who can truly bare,

To see the world in me, to dare.

To dive, to hide in love's repair,

Your strength, a refuge from despair.

My verses wished to make you aware,

Not just of pain, but of the care,

Behind them - the soul laid bare.

  • Sur la place pres du Louvre
    Feb 16 2025

The musical piece "Sur la place près du Louvre" with lyrics by Marina E. di Cervini and music by A. Alexeev.

Sur la place près du Louvre,

    'neath tables set so fine,

Wine filled the slender crystal glass,

    where lips left marks benign.

    Breaths gentle as the whispers,

    as day to night entwine,

Though drowned, my soul did brightly gleam

    in waves that truly shine.

Dusk settled in, the glasses bare,

    a quiet, soft resign,

    Cigarette smoke curled with thoughts,

    in strangers' fires combine.

    I breathed... in meditative calm,

    I breathed... with thoughts aligned,

A sable veil o’ercast the sky,

    a darkness solely mine.

Sur la place près du Louvre,

two hearts beat in sweet sign,

    Behind the skylight, shadows slipped,

    with every tear of mine.

  • Whispers from Within
    Feb 16 2025

The musical piece "Whispers from within" with lyrics by M.E. di Cervini.

In the dance of musical notes, my life finds reflection,

Among the petals of scarlet roses, we remained undetected.

Fate sketched for us the thresholds of love, yet

Only in thoughts we dwelt, in prayers, not dreams we set.

Your hand closed my eyes, in a tear, my sorrows drowned.

"Open your door, awaken my sight," I found.

By the fire's glow, my desires become clear,

But words lose meaning when you're not near.

If life is but a lie, a mere play of chance,

I forgot, and the sea embraced my lost stance.

I forgot, this life I can no longer claim,

Yet in the stars, I found a path, an eternal flame.

I know my desires; I see where the road bends,

In late autumn, amidst jazz and candlelight, it sends.

Among hundreds, your presence suddenly gleamed,

Under the brightest star, you approached, or so it seemed.

In a skyscraper's heights, amidst the urban sea,

You came to me, in that moment, we were meant to be.

In your love, my heart found its eternal rest,

In your eyes, wisdom and brightness, I became blessed.

In love, I fell, as candles around us light,

My hands found yours, in the silent night.

My eyes whispered a silent "Yes," true and wise,

In your embrace, I found my heart's ultimate prize.

In daylight broad, you sought the dream envisioned in sleep,

Found and vowed, "I'm here to keep."

Time stood still, our fates entwined in a knot,

In your certainty, in my belonging, our struggle forgot.

In dreams, tears, and pain, our journey began,

Together we found our way, our union span.

In the melody of our lives, in every verse and line,

I was unequivocally yours, as you were mine.
