They’re an Intersex activist and clinical patient recruitment specialist working in CNS disorders, which includes Bipolar Depression, Depression, Schizophrenia, Migraine, and Binge Eating Disorder to name a few. She is a cinephile and avid fandom enthusiast. Her latest TV obsessions include From, Agatha All Along, and Felicity, but she is a diehard Lost, Agents of SHIELD and The West Wing fan.     In this episode, Jenn shares why Madame Mim is so important to her. Madame Mim lives in isolation, meaning that she was either shunned by society or chose to live that way. She didn’t ask for Wart to drop into her chimney!

    We discuss the importance of patience in facilitating change, and parallels to the therapeutic process. This episode is the perfect blend of humor and insight as we also touch on the therapeutic use of pop culture in Nicole's practice.

    Nicole, aka @levelup_therapist, is a licensed clinical psychologist trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She opened her private practice in 2021 with the hope of using her clinical skills in conjunction with her love for all things “geeky” to help clients who struggle to respond to a more traditional therapy approach.

    Nicole has contributed to podcasts and pop culture panels, specifically on how to incorporate geek culture into the therapeutic process. Nicole identifies as a proud geek, with a love for many different fandoms, including Disney!
