  • Mixedlings: weekly conversations and affirmations on being mixed-race is a safe space for mixed people to tune in and for anyone who would like to learn about the individual and shared experiences of mixed people. I’ll be sharing conversation with mixed people, both biracial and multigenerationally mixed. Some of which will be monoracial presenting. I will also include positive affirmations which affirm and celebrate the beauty and nuance of being mixed.

Together, Corey and Melissa proudly embrace their multifaceted racial identity and strive for greater recognition and understanding of the multiracial experience in 2024 and beyond.

    I had the pleasure of speaking with my best friend Nyjerus Liggans, a Research Associate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. Nyjerus’s mission is to inspire children of color to explore careers in STEM, opening doors to opportunities beyond traditional expectations. He believes every child possesses a passion for science, but in Mixed and other minority communities, this enthusiasm is often overshadowed by a stronger emphasis on athletics. He aims to show marginalized children that they can excel both academically and athletically, and that pursuing a passion for STEM can lead to meaningful contributions to society. It was a pleasure to have him on the Mixedlings podcast!
