The Philadelphia Flyers set a (regular season) franchise record on Sunday, having failed to score a single goal in three consecutive games. Add in the rebuild-defining trade the shipped both Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost to the Calgary Flames, and it was quite a week for the Orange & Black.

The Philadelphia Flyers played a very strong first period, outshooting the Colorado Avalanche 10-6 and dictating the pace for much of the period.

But after that, it was mostly all Avs. Sam Girard and Nathan MacKinnon scored in the second, a period that saw Colorado outshoot Philly 18-7, and then it became a question of “will Mackenzie Blackwood get the shutout?” Well, he did.
