We did it! In back-to-back days, Philadelphia teams have defeated Josh Harris-owned teams in the South Philly sports complex that the Sixers owner wanted to break up.

Sam Ersson played one of his best games of the season, while the Flyers got offense from all their depth, including Garnet Hathaway matching last year’s goal and points total in 31 fewer games.

For a second straight night, the Flyers scored the game’s opening goal, but went to the first intermission trailing 2-1, and again, the New York team never looked back. Back-to-back regulation losses to division foes now have the Flyers falling further from Stanley Cup Playoff contention.

The biggest news in the NHL, however, is a huge trade between the Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks which will send Mikko Rantanen to the Canes for Martin Necas and Jack Drury. Taylor Hall is also headed to Carolina from the ‘Hawks.
