In response to President Trump's mass deportation policies, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has intensified enforcement efforts, resulting in the arrests and detentions of both undocumented immigrants and U.S. citizens. Concerns have emerged over reports of ICE detaining Native Americans, with tribal leaders warning their communities to carry identification. Some claim that ICE agents fail to recognize tribal documents as valid proof of citizenship, further fueling criticisms of the agency’s actions. Notably, U.S. citizens, including a military veteran, have reportedly been detained, drawing sharp criticism of racial profiling by the agency.

Resistance to the Trump administration’s deportation efforts has also surfaced internationally. Colombia initially refused to accept deportees on U.S. military flights, prompting a trade dispute that led to the imposition of tariffs by the U.S. The dispute was eventually resolved, with Colombia agreeing to accept the flights. Similarly, Mexico rejected a U.S. military deportation flight, while Brazil condemned the "degrading treatment" of its deported citizens, citing reports of deportees being handcuffed during flights.

Domestically, ICE raids have been conducted in cities such as Chicago, Denver, and Miami, sparking outrage and legal challenges. In Chicago, local advocacy groups have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration, opposing its deportation policies and the broader implications of its immigration enforcement strategies.
