Show Notes for Season 1, Ep. 23: Part 7: Series on the United States Constitution - September 16, 2021
========================================
Episode Summary:
In this week’s episode of “Pumpkins and Politics” with Chad George, Chad will continue with our second series, about the United States Constitution. In this series, we will look at the events and the many situations leading up to the United States Constitution and then taking a good, close look at this remarkable founding document.
We are continuing our weekly series of the “50 Most Influential people” segment, where Chad chooses one influential person from each state to talk about. This week, our influential person is from the state of Mississippi. Medgar Wiley Evers was born in Decatur, Mississippi. He was an American civil rights activist in Mississippi, the state’s field secretary for the NAACP, and a World War II veteran.
In this episode, we touch on some key points:
1. We will review the Bill of Rights and the input of James Madison.
2. We will talk about Article V of the Constitution that lays out a two step process to amend the document.
3. We will do a synopsis of each ratified amendment, discussing the title, subject, proposed, completed and the time it took.
4. We will do a synopsis on each unratified amendment, discussing the title, subject and status.
5. Medgar Evers was an American civil rights activist in Mississippi and the state’s field director for the NAACP.
