Are you struggling to wake up when the alarm goes off? You're not alone. Here are 4 things you can do to create a biblical mindset around your morning routine.
1. Prepare the night before, pack lunches, prep coffee, set out your workout clothes and work outfit. Pray, ask God to give you His strength to rise with GRATITUDE for another day as the alarm goes off.
2. Pick 1-2 days a week to start. I started with Wednesday and Friday when I decided to take control of my mornings. I didn't want to all or nothing 5 days a week, that never works. 1-2 was sustainable and I started with 10-15 minutes at a time.
3. Mel Robbins, watch her TED talk on how to stop screwing yourself over. I also recommend reading 5 Second Rule, it changed my life and helped MAKE me a morning person but also take action in other areas of my life.
4. Spend your first moments with Jesus. If you want God to give you His best then it's time to offer Him the same. He gets our first fruits of time in the mornign, not our lukewarm leftovers at the end of the day. If you want discipline, seek His will daily. Discipline is a fruit of the spirit; you just need to cultivate it a bit.
If you truly want to make the most out of your morning routine, PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN. You should have to get out of bed to shiut off your phone if it's your alarm. 15 steps minimum. Then don't touch it until your prayer, reading and journaling is done. Social media is distracting you and making you less productive. Email can wait, Jesus shouldn't have to.
I am guilty and still struggle with all of these, thankfully His mercies are new each day. Pray. Ask Him for help and He WILL show up for you, then it's your call to walk in faithful obedience. You can do this!
