    Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of The Black Compass! This week, we discussed a topic near and dear to us. Black women have to carry so much mental, emotional, and physical burdens that it can often be overwhelming. The stereotypes attached to black women are often unwarranted and mentally tax us in ways that can cause long-lasting damage. Being able to find support and safe spaces to allow us to emotionally heal and grow are difficult and can be hard to find. This week, we focus on how to find and create these spaces in our lives so we won’t have our voices silenced. It is important to cultivate trusted relationships we can look to in order to be heard and valued.

    Hey guys! Happy Happy New Year! We are back and better than ever. One thing about 2021, many things have changed and created a “new normal” and simply won’t allow us to return to our pre-pandemic lives. Something that stands out is the workplace, with more and more companies and employers going remote permanently even as the world slowly opens back up. Thus, our workspaces have changed and we are dealing with the aftereffects of that. Working from home has really changed people's attitudes and expectations towards work. This week on The Black Compass, we examine the new workplace culture and how to manage certain burdens that we now have to deal with working remotely. We have to prioritize ourselves and create boundaries that will help us practice healthy work/life balances.
