    Today’s special guest is nutrition expert, Mark Gilbert who’s going to be giving us loads of insights on how we can fuel ourselves for a healthy lifestyle and help anyone on their weight loss journey. We also have another life-changing slimmer story from Teg Turner who had to battle with her anxiety.

    Mark is The 1:1 Diet Nutritionist and has been involved with Nutrition for more than 30 years. He holds multiple certifications in Sports Nutrition, Exercise Science and Pharmaceuticals. Mark is also Science Officer for TDMR Europe and formerly Vice Chair of the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance. He’s on the advisory board and columnist for Muscle and Fitness Magazine, Flex Magazine and Muscle Insider. He’s co-founder of Fitness Genes Limited and, as a consultant, Mark has worked with dozens of companies and institutions including Tesco, Lion Capital and The Canadian Armed Forces. All of that and additionally has worked with The NHS and The Police.

    Today’s special guest is Dr Natasha Patel, a leading diabetes consultant, talking about her passion to help those suffering with diabetes as well as giving her expert advice on making healthy choices to prevent or limit certain types of the condition. So loads of helpful tips there, and this week’s slimmer story is all about how Emily Chappell had to overcome her own battle with diabetes.

    Dr Natasha Patel qualified from Imperial College London in 1999 having previously obtained a BSc (Hons) in neurosciences in 1996. She initially worked at St Georges Hospital London as a Consultant before moving to Guys and St Thomas' and recently moved to Epsom Hospital to be closer to family. She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2014.

    Dr Patel specialises in diabetes and the complexities she has extensive experience in managing diabetes in all its forms, using technology, diabetes complications. She has also trained with the IFM in functional medicine and merges this into her practice to offer her patients a holistic approach to their health.
