  • Don't be HYPER-be TENSION free
    Jan 7 2025

HYPERTENSION or High Blood Pressure is also known as the SILENT KILLER as most of the times it does not give any clear symptoms and can sometimes lead to sudden cardiac death. The diagnosis of high BP is usually neglected and majority of the people even after they are diagnosed refuse to accept it and go into a denial phase. Due to this they have a higher chance of landing up with complications like a heart attack, stroke, kidney failure and blindness. Hypertension is easy to diagnose and treat. We just need to take the condition seriously, understand its importance, monitor our blood pressures regularly, make the necessary life style changes and be compliant with medicines, if they are needed so that we can keep our blood pressure under control and live a healthy and complication free life.

    Dec 9 2024

Diabetes has become a global epidemic, yet many of us don’t fully understand the condition, its symptoms, or how it affects our bodies. In this informative and empowering podcast episode, we take a deep dive into decoding diabetes—covering everything you need to know, from recognizing early signs to effective prevention and management strategies.
With millions of lives impacted by diabetes, this episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to take charge of their health. Whether you are living with diabetes, have a family history of the condition, or want to learn how to lower your risk, we provide actionable insights and expert advice.
Join me as I begin by explaining the different types of diabetes—Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes—and the role of insulin in regulating blood sugar. By understanding how diabetes develops, you’ll be better equipped to recognize the condition in its early stages.
Diabetes often progresses silently, but there are key symptoms that shouldn’t be ignored. I will walk you through the most common signs, including frequent urination, excessive thirst, unexplained weight loss or gain, persistent fatigue, blurry vision, and slow-healing wounds.
Getting an early and accurate diagnosis is critical. I @drsagorikamullick will explain the various diagnostic tests—such as fasting blood sugar, HbA1c levels, and when to get screened. If you have risk factors like obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, or a family history of diabetes, this information is especially important.
Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to severe complications, including heart disease, kidney failure, nerve damage, and vision loss. I will explain how these complications arise and why managing your blood sugar levels is essential for long-term health and well-being.
The good news is that diabetes is preventable and manageable with the right lifestyle changes. I will provide some practical tips on adopting a balanced diet, staying physically active, managing stress, and maintaining a healthy weight. These strategies not only lower your risk but also improve your quality of life, even if you already have diabetes.
By educating yourself about diabetes, you can take proactive steps to protect your health and reduce your risk of complications. Whether you’re just curious or actively seeking solutions, this episode is filled with practical advice and evidence-based insights to help you or your loved ones navigate life with confidence.
If you’re ready to decode diabetes and take charge of your health, this podcast is for you. Remember, prevention is always better than cure.
