    Feb 14 2025

We journey not without someone beside...A contemplative, thoughtful poem about humanity by Addison Zane Mills//MONUMENTSWe don’t know with whom we’ve spoken, or who we’ve taken from. We don’t know of those we’ve shaken - who we’ve kept from getting home. All we know is we feel – broken. We feel as if we’re here alone. When the Sun is hid behind the nightand all in mind comes to bare,It’s only then the Void will stareAnd bring your emptiness to light.Could we know the day or seasonOr even know the time?Does everything have its reason - days unkindAnd life too long? All we know - is all that’s brokenWhen we see the end and hear the song.Count the stars to compare the mass -To trim your view or make it wide.To judge your place along the sideOf those who live and those who pass.We know it’s ours to place the questionBut dare not break the line.We fear unknown yet loathe our station - and view green fields and shut behindAll we’ve known - all we’ve broken,And lay our claim to feel alone. We journey not without someone beside -Yet here we are and looking through the glass; Each a monument to passOur story down for future years to find.We don’t know with whom we’ve spoken,Or who we’ve given hope; With whom we’ve shared our own time golden - who we’ve loved or seen grow old.It heals to know we’ve all been broken -In knowing this, we’re not alone.- AZM//Get Connected! Feb 12 2025

a poem about discovery, adventure, risk and truthHere's to the original pioneers//Synodic.How stars aligned as Navigators forged the path to a novel and strange worldAs said Navigators changed societal tides by sailing ocean tidesFreedom seekers, desiring Truth, forsaking convention, abandoning comfort,Visionaries in whose ideals we now live, presumptuous in our entitlement. Rhapsodic. The rapturous delight as the sea greeted these Navigators with its salty salutation,Archaic ideals crashing as vehemently as the crashing waves; this same seaCarrying them forward to a new horizon brimming with promise and possibility,The dawn of a new age, deserting the familiar for the extraordinary. Hypnotic. The sights, the scents, the shore, the sand, as Navigators made landAfter a tumultuous and devastating journey, well worth the sacrificeAs these Navigators became Pioneers, stepping forth into the lush foliageOf this exhilarating, uncharted territory eagerly beckoning them forward. Embryonic.A new society, rudimentary, as Pioneers gave up the ghost, laboringTo birth the vision that burned hotly like a fire shut up in their bones,Blazing the way for these freedoms to which we are now boundAnd for which it is our duty to uphold, to embrace, to preserve. Psychotic. To think said freedoms remain without sacrifice, without the voiceOf the New Pioneers, whose forefathers cried “Give me liberty, or death!”And likewise shall we cry or our freedom will surely die, stolen before our eyes,Disregarding the price for our privileges paid by the Navigators, the Original Pioneers.- The Wandering Poet//Get Connected! Chaos is an unknown friend...A contemplative, melancholic, nostalgic poem by Addison Zane Mills//WE, THE PIONEERSHere we stand at the edge and look beyond this distant shore.Yet not the stars nor oceans deep, here, hold our gaze. This frontier stands within the mind, a mountain calling;A fearful place.A valley in a shadow -We the pioneers; To trace the hidden riverAnd bring the sun to bear.On this edge we hold fast to weather storms and fear no more;Look now and see the sunrise glow to start the dawn.Longing eyes may not look back at safety callingTo bring us home. Our home now on the edges -We the pioneers; To chart the open wildsEmbracing what we fear.Chaos is an unknown friend; an unforgiving looking glass.‘Tis not an enemy to fear, but shows the wayReflecting only who we are, what we are missing,What we don’t say,Vast unknown or unspoken,We the pioneersCrave only to discover; To chart our values dear. Here we stand at the edge and look beyond this distant shore -We the pioneers.- AZM//Get Connected!
