    Mansfield Senior won their 12th game of the year on Saturday night, as the TYgers (12-5) beat New Philadelphia, 55-44, at Pete Henry gymnasium. D'Vontae Johnson led Senior High, now 8-2 in the OCC, with 16 points and went 7/7 shooting from the floor. Kaylen Brooks added in 15, which include a huge 3-pointer in the 4th quarter, when the Quakers cut the lead down to 6. Kyevi Roane nearly had a double-double, 10 points and 9 rebounds, and Ny Petty had a great game with 7 points and 4 rebounds. New Philadelphia (9-8, 5-5) was led in scoring by Quinn Miller with 11 points

  • HS Boys Basketball -Lexington at Madison -January 31st, 2025

    The Lexington Minutemen secured their 3rd straight Ohio Cardinal Conference championship on Friday, as Lex beat Madison on the road, 63-49. The win gave the Minutemen (16-2, 10-1) a share of the league title, which is their 9th overall OCC crown. Lex can win the outright championship with a Mansfield Senior loss to New Philadelphia on Saturday, or a Minutemen win, next Friday at Ashland. Brayden Fogle had a great game vs Madison, scoring 23 points and pulling down 8 rebounds. Joe Caudill had a double-double with 14 points, 12 rebounds (7 offensive), 3 assists, 3 steals and a block in just 20 minutes. The Rams (4-15, 1-9 in OCC), dropped their 9th straight game, and were led in scoring by Cam Kuhn and Justin Mcraney, who each had 12 points.

  • HS Boys Basketball - Jan 28th, 2025 - Lexington at Mansfield Senior

    The Lexington Minutemen are now in sole possession of 1st place in the Ohio Cardinal Conference, after their impressive win, 84-64, at Mansfield Senior on Tuesday. Lex was clicking on all cylinders, as they shot 72% as a team for the game (37/51). 5 Minutemen scored in double figures - Joe Caudill 18, Brayden Fogle and Gavin Husty 16 each, Jakob Legron 11 and Seven Allen with 10. The Minutemen shared the ball well with19 assists and won the battle on the boards, 31-18. Lex (15-2, 9-1) jumped out to a 8-0 lead and never trailed, which saw their lead balloon to as many as 25. Mansfield Senior (10-5, 7-2) was led in scoring by Kaylen Brooks with 18, Andrew Brooks with 16 off the bench, and Kyevi Roane with 13 points.

  • HS Boys Basketball - Shelby at Madison - January 25th, 2025

    The Shelby Whippets got their 10th win of the year on Saturday at Madison, 65-48. Brayden DeVito was on fire, as he scored a career-high 34 points to lead Shelby (10-6). DeVito connected on 5 three's, as he poured in 30 points in the first 3 quarters. Landon Foltz was also in double figures with 10. Madison (4-13), who lost their 7th game in a row, was led in scoring by Colton Adkins with 13.

  • HS Boys Basketball - Crestview at Ontario - January 25th, 2025

    The Ontario Warriors rallied from 12 points down in the 2nd half to beat Crestview on Saturday afternoon, 61-59. Ontario was down 58-51 with :51 seconds left, and score 10 points to stun the Cougars. Trindon Flenoury made a three to tie the game, then the Warriors stole the ball and Tre Fowler scored the game winning basket with :01 second to play. Fowler score 12 points of the bench, as Ontario (5-10) was led in scoring by freshman Trindon Flenoury and Cardae Brown, who each had 14. Crestview's Justice Thompson became the schools all-time leading scorer, and he scored 18 points, as passed Dave Groff (1965) for the mark. Thompson now has 1,335 points for his career. Tyson Ringler played well finishing with 18 too. The loss was only the 2nd all year for the Cougars (12-2)

    Mansfield Senior beat Ashland in overtime on Friday, 72-71, to remain in a 1st place tie atop the Ohio Cardinal Conference. The TYgers (10-4, 7-1) had 4 players score in double figures, led by Kaylen Brooks with 18, Rashad Reed and Kyevi Roane each with 16 and Andrew Brooks with 12. D'Vontae Johnson had 9 points, but it was his clutch free throws in OT (4/4) that helped secure the win with :12 seconds remaining. Ashland (8-6, 4-5) got a game-high 26 points from Gabe Baith, 18 from Paxon Ediger, 13 from Reed Emmons and 11 from Nathan Bernhard

  • High School Boys Basketball - Jan 17th, 2025 - Madison at Mansfield Senior

    Mansfield Senior improved to 9-3 on the year, and remains in a 1st place tie atop the OCC, after a 68-42 win at home vs cross-town rival Madison. Senior High, after a slow start, pulled away late in the 3rd quarter and early 4th quarter, thanks to a 20-2 run. Kyevi Roane led all scorers with a game high in points (23) and rebounds with 11. Rashad Reed chipped in with 12 points and Jahmere Pearson added 11 points off the bench. Madison (4-11), who has dropped 5 in a row, was led by Kaleb Gordon with 11 points and Colton Adkins with 9.

  • High School Boys Basketball Jan 14th, 2025 - Norwalk at Madison

    The Madison Rams lost their 4th game in a row on Tuesday, 58-45, at home to Norwalk. The game was close in the 1st half with Norwalk holding a 2 point lead after one quarter and by just 5 points at halftime. The Truckers were able to open up a double digit lead in the 3rd quarter, but Madison rallied to just the lead down to 3. Norwalk was able to go on a key 7-0 run late in the 4th quarter to seal their 5th win on the year. Madison (4-10) was led in scoring by Justin Mcraney with a season high 20 points, while Brady O'Brien came off the bench to knock down three 3's and add 11 points. Norwalk (5-7) had a great game from Brock Kuhl, who scored a game-high 26.
