What is being fulfilled through us?
“Then he began to say to them, "Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing." - Luke 4:21
For those not immediately familiar with the passage, this section of Luke is considered to be the beginning of Jesus’s public ministry.
Just prior, Jesus read these words and claimed them as his mission and purpose:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke quoting Isaiah)
The Spirit of the Lord upon and within him, inspired Jesus to take up this mission and to fulfill, to live out this purpose.
What is the Spirit of God upon, within, and among us fulfilling through us?
