I was a wanderer. I looked for more. More to love. More to protect. More to save. Joining the military gave me the opportunity to find two out of three. It’s also where I fell in lust with Lawson, but it wasn’t the type of love you write home about. It wasn’t pure. I crave attention. It’s not frowned upon to want someone’s love and affection, but it is when you know that you’ll never return the same for another person. He loved me every day for nine years. He gave me everything I asked for. His affection was only for me. But when he wanted a stable position in our relationship, I couldn’t give it, because there were some many others that could offer the same. I didn’t want to settle. Or at least I didn’t think I did, until I learned he was getting married.

My life has been nothing but a constellation of conflict. Dad died when I was 12, check. Mom died of cancer just before my 18th birthday, check. Married a conceited pretty boy, check. Husband decided that our nine-year marriage was an open marriage but forgot to tell me, check. Moved to Cumming, Georgia, to be closer to my Southern Chaotic family, check. Became infatuated with a man-wh*re who has no problem with being an exhibitionist, check. For once, I’d like to have a life that is planned out by me and not the people or ordeals that clash with the life I want.
