Many dogs, especially those from animal shelters, have not had good experiences in their previous lives and are traumatized or fearful. This often manifests itself in different behaviors in different situations. For example, a dog expresses its fear through aggression on the lead if another dog comes too close, if it encounters cyclists or joggers or a person who wants to stroke the fearful dog. Other dogs are afraid of stairs, being left alone or loud noises. Anxious dogs also try to escape situations and show their fear by curling their tail or putting their ears back.

Questo spesso si manifesta con comportamenti diversi in situazioni diverse. Ad esempio, un cane esprime la sua paura attraverso l'aggressione al guinzaglio se un altro cane si avvicina troppo, se incontra ciclisti o corridori o una persona che vuole accarezzare il cane impaurito. Altri cani hanno paura delle scale, di essere lasciati soli o dei rumori forti.

Dies zeigt sich oft durch verschiedene Verhaltensweisen in unterschiedlichen Situationen. So äußert ein Hund seine Angst durch Aggression an der Leine, wenn ihm beispielsweise ein anderer Hund zu nah kommt, ihm Fahrradfahrer oder Jogger begegnen oder ein Mensch, welcher den ängstlichen Hund streicheln möchte. Andere Hunde haben Angst vor Treppen, dem Allein-Bleiben oder lauten Geräuschen.
