After writing the first book about why Lean and Six Sigma practitioners should volunteer their skills to help nonprofits, I wanted to give more tangible and real-life examples of how these tools and techniques can be applied. I've reached out to friends and colleagues who are already volunteering their time, and asked them to write a chapter for this first volume, called Lessons Learned from the Gemba.

As an experienced Lean Six Sigma practitioner, I've seen the benefits these skills and thinking can bring to a company. They are also applicable outside of business settings to help address poverty, improve health care, improve education, and improve the environment. This is a condensed audiobook to motivate current Lean Six Sigma and continuous-improvement experts to help their company and community reduce their environmental impacts and help address social problems, both at a local and global level.
