In modern America, two soldiers will fight their way through the magical legacies of Poe and Hawthorne to destroy an undying evil - if they don't kill each other first. They're an odd, eccentric group, united only by their love of and obsession with their birds, who will fly more than 300 miles to complete the Million Dollar and then never race again.
