I-Spy

This mission is initiated when an elusive, unidentified terrorist organizer kills yet another agent sent to kill him and Colonel Garrison at last receives a photo, although no name, that might actually be authentic, as well as a home base in Spain and the information of a tie to the ETA, a Basque group whom some experts call the best-trained terrorists in the world, which is probably all too authentic. On this mission in spite of Dan's protests, the Colonel has attached Dan’s department store business partner, Pres Hooper, who is clueless as to Dan's real "business" in Spain. But Pres is eager to go for he has been told that Spain is the land of romance, his kind of place. The mission goes very wrong within the first few hours and Pres is not exactly helping. Nor are either Dan or Pres pleased to see Pres’ sister, tweedy, tally-ho Mary Sue, arrive in Madrid.

The second mission with Pres Hooper unwittingly attached to it begins when Pres flies off to Ireland to console his sister Mary Sue after an unexpected and tragic turn of events. Dan O'Donovan's control sends Dan along to find out what so unexpectedly went wrong and to investigate his theory that the reason hostilities in Northern Ireland between Catholics and Protestants continue to flare up because there are a few individuals deliberately fanning the flames for their own purposes. Dan is to try to confirm the theory and act accordingly.

Pres Hooper, who has been dating a Senator's daughter, is on a junket to Peru with the Senator when the plane crashes. For Dan's control, this is a perfect opportunity to put into action his plan to topple both the corrupt government and replace the inept "puppet" that the US Embassy and the CIA have selected with a man he has found. Now is the time for his man to start playing a role on a larger stage.

On a business trip to Turkey Mary Sue Hooper finds herself held for ransom along with several other women. Her brother Pres and their partner Dan O'Donovan both receive ransom notes and leave for Istanbul. But just before Dan leaves, his control contacts him with orders to "free those women" for reasons that don't quite ring true. In Istanbul Dan deals with the situation and with Pres who is, as usual, clueless about what else Dan does for a living.
