In the early 2000s, Judge Mark Ciavarella and Judge Michael Conahan of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania were known as no-nonsense judges. Juveniles who showed up in their courtrooms faced harsh words and even harsher sentencing. In the post-Columbine era, many people believed that was just what the county needed to ensure its children and teens stayed on the straight and narrow path. In 2018, the FBI was given only a week to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. These poems are mostly drawn from the album A Vigil For Justice. A Vigil For Peace. and the EP Epiphany. I have written lyrics and poems for many years and have concentrated on them from the viewpoint of always being approached via music. So I thought it would be a change to work this way round - words first and in charge of the music myself, if any.
