The Storeroom Guys is a darkly comic listen for a foggy winter's night. It is a great piece of literature to get a conversation started about strange work colleagues, haunted spaces, post-traumatic stress, and surviving tough times. It has inspired graphic artists, theatre producers, and screen writers. For horror fans, there are lots of clever references to classics of the genre, but there is nothing jaded about the plot, and the twist is as satisfying as it is unexpected. The Guys has contemporary characters - but evil is timeless.

Walton sets out to explore the North Pole and expand his scientific knowledge in hopes of achieving fame and friendship. The ship becomes trapped in ice, and, one day, the crew sees a dog sled in the distance, on which there is the figure of a giant man. Hours later, the crew finds a frozen and emaciated man, Victor Frankenstein, in desperate need of sustenance.

Mary Shelley, aged 18, and her lover (and later husband) Percy Bysshe Shelley, visited Lord Byron at the Villa Diodati by Lake Geneva in Switzerland. The weather was consistently too cold and dreary that summer to enjoy the outdoor holiday activities they had planned, so the group retired indoors until dawn.

Frankenstein is infused with some elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement and is also considered to be one of the earliest examples of science fiction. Includes introduction and commentary by Mary Shelley. Required reading for any fan of science fiction and horror genres. A classic.
