My career as a firefighter/paramedic stretched from 1974 to 2000 when were inventing EMS as we went along. These are stories from those years on the street. I november 2011 blev Gösta Ekman allvarligt sjuk och genomgick en svår operation med tillhörande sjukhusvistelse. Läkarna informerade om att han inte skulle minnas mycket från en sådan traumatisk period. Marie-Louise Ekman skrev då en dagbok under sjukhustiden för att vara hans extra minne.
