A Curious Beginning
I don’t normally write a review but this treasure deserves a mention. What a lovely book! It’s one of those books that sincerely takes you within the pages to take a closer look. I love the time, the characters and mystery in every turn. It’s a story that you don’t want to end.

Delightfully fun!
Charming characters, exciting adventures, spunky heroine, dashing but cranky love interest.

A fantastic story and start to the series 💜

Loved it!
Enjoyed the story. Veronica Speedwell is a female character who can take care of herself. She grows throughout the story and realizes she doesn’t have to do it alone, hopefully making her next adventure that more interesting.

So much fun!!
I loved this story. Veronica is the best female character I've read/listened to in a novel in a long time. I wish Stoker's voice was done differently, but it is still an amazing performance. I can't wait to experience the rest of the series!

Listen to it twice!
Must listen for anyone Who likes Victorian suspense/adventure such as Sherlock Holmes. Lovely narrator with a great variety of characters she glided easily from one to another without pause.

a nice start to Adventure series.
I really enjoyed the narrator. She did a great job of keeping on the voice is different and her reading Pace was good. There is some fun little twist and turns in the plot. One aspect of the plot I think most people guess towards the beginning but the way it plays out is satisfactory. There are stolen glances to add a little spark. It will be interesting to see some of these characters reappear and future stories and learn more about them.
there are times where the main character has that very academic standoffishness that you also see in Sherlock Holmes but like Sherlock she is caring towards other people and in her case she also comes across a little more independent and standoffish due to being raised as a foundling child.
