About this listen
From the authors of the best-selling series Cherringham.
A young poacher is found shot dead in the woods of a grand estate near Mydworth. A sad accident it would seem. But the boy's mother is convinced it is murder and when Harry and Kat investigate, they find the poacher's life was not as innocent as he made out...
Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Enjoyable second story in the series
I enjoy these short and to the point stories. They satisfy the need for a cozy mystery after any longer book. I find the language very accessible and the main characters well developed and likeable. Keep them coming, I say.

Meh
okay but 2 in series was enough, plot too simple. If you can work it out in the first part of the book what is the point.

Okay, ending a bit bland
I like the atmosphere that is created with these mini mysteries. I like the characters, and like the writing, and the narration is excellent. However, I found this one fell a little flat for me. There are a lot of loose ends not tied up at the end, and I found the conclusion pretty unsatisfying. I understand these are short, but then it would be nice not to introduce things that won't be resolved. Perhaps in the next installment things will be addressed.
summary: I think it's worth a read (especially for the price!), it's a nice cozy mystery but found the ending slightly unsatisfying compared to the previous
