About this listen
The price of love is loss. We all pay it eventually…
In every life…
Some moments are too painful to be endured. Some moments will break you if you let them.
And yet, I can’t afford to let anything break me, because we have one chance to win this war. One chance to create a better life for everyone across the four kingdoms.
Even as our enemies ally with each other, our own allies are forced to betray their kingdoms, their people…and themselves.
And even as Regner plans something so cruel, so wholly evil, he’s poised to douse the last remaining spark of hope in this world.
Unless we kill him first.

this author is obviously a fan of Throne of Glass
spoiler alert
this series was entertaining; but if you have read the Throne of Glass series, you will find it hard to not see the similar plot lines all the way down to Asinia and Demos mimicking Lysandra and Aedion. This way you won't have to worry about anything surprising you I suppose

Lots of action
Lots of action and exciting things happening in this book, which is great! a good conclusion to the series. my only complaint is there felt like a lot less Lorian in this book - lol! Loved to see all the characters grow in this one.

Entertaining but...
I listened to all 4 books, because it was entertaining and could have been quite good, But the story didn't hold up. There were more plot holes and mistakes as the story went on. Obviously very little planning ahead by the writer it seems because there were no set-ups to anything, just after-the-fact explanations and plot points that came out of nowhere. If you're like me, and love to sink into the world of a book series, and enjoy the clues, hints, lead-ups and Easter eggs throughout a book series, then it's pretty meh. The story doesn't hold up to fan-ship unfortunately. I think the author is likely talented enough to do better, if focused on the quality of the story as a whole.
The female narrator did an awesome job. The make narrator was weak and contributed nothing overall, imo.
