Publisher's Summary
Out in the darkness of space, something is targeting the Greatships.
With their vast cargo holds and a crew that could fill a city, the Greatships are the lifeblood of human-occupied space, transporting an unimaginable volume - and value - of goods from City, the greatest human orbital, all the way to Tradepoint at the other, to trade for xenoglas with an unknowable alien species.
It has always been Marca Nbaro's dream to achieve the near-impossible: escape her upbringing and venture into space.
All it took, to make her way onto the crew of the Greatship Athens, was thousands of hours in simulators, dedication and pawning or selling every scrap of her old life in order to forge a new one. But though she's made her way onboard with faked papers, leaving her old life - and scandals - behind isn't so easy.
She may have just combined all the dangers of her former life, with all the perils of the new....

Story
A vibrant and powerful epic set against an alternate Bronze Age, this tale of gods, men and monsters, conspiracy and war, is a rich, compelling and original tale from a master of the historical and fantasy genres. The people caught up in toils of the gods are merely trying to survive. Victims of vicious whims, trapped by their circumstances or pushed beyond what the mortal frame can bear, a handful of god-touched mortals—a scribe, a warlord, a dancer and a child - are about to be brought together in a conspiracy of their own.

Story
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service. When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: They can run away. Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.

spectacular
fast paced and brilliant adventure in a richly realized future. the reader does a fantastic job in bringing the characters to life. christian draws on his experience in the Navy his knowledge of history and his incredible imagination to immerse the reader I'm his world. People who enjoy the Expanse and the Vorkosigan saga will love it. can't recommend it highly enough.

Brilliantly written and executed SF story.
What a thrill to read this beautifully written, gripping story of a newbie midshipman on a gigantic interstellar ship. The details of the ship and it's customs are given through the eyes of our protagonist with the same delight we find in the first few Harry Potter books. The detail and richness of the Navy is reminiscent of Patrick O' Brien. I can't pause this book enough, give it a try yourself.

Outstanding
As with everything else that Cameron has written, this combines vast historical knowledge with visionary creativity. It's an exciting narrative driven by lovable characters in a fascinating SciFi universe. I'm very much looking forward to Deep Black and hoping for more titles in Arcana Imperii in the future!
