Publisher's Summary
Make a deal with the devil and you might get what you want, but will it be what you need?
Jennifer Sylvester wants one thing, and that one thing is not to be Tennessee's reigning Banana Cake Queen. Ever the perpetual good girl and obedient daughter, Jennifer is buckling under the weight of her social media celebrity, her mother's ambitions, and her father's puritanical mandates. Jennifer is officially desperate.
And desperate times call for Cletus Winston.
Cletus Winston is a puzzle wrapped in a mystery covered in conundrum sauce, and now he's in a pickle. Despite being convinced of his own omniscience, extortion by the exalted Banana Cake Queen of Green Valley has taken him completely by surprise. So what's a maniacal mastermind to do?
Likely, the last thing you expect.
Beard Science is the third book in the Winston Brothers series, is a full-length romantic comedy novel, and can be heard as a standalone.

Story
Former beauty queen Ashley Winston’s preferred coping strategy is escapism. She escaped her Tennessee small town, loathsome father, and six brothers eight years ago. However, when a family tragedy forces her to return home, Ashley can’t escape the notice of Drew Runous—local Game Warden, bear wrestler, philosopher, and everyone’s favorite guy. Drew’s irksome philosophizing in particular makes Ashley want to run for the skyscrapers, especially since he can’t seem to keep his exasperating opinions— or his soulful poetry, steadfast support, and delightful hands— to himself.

Rex “TW” McMurtry’s perpetual singlehood wouldn’t bother him so much if all his ex-girlfriends didn’t keep marrying the very next person they dated, especially when so many of those grooms are his closest friends. He may be a pro-football defensive end for the Chicago Squalls, but the press only wants to talk about how he’s always a groomsman and never a groom. Bartender Abigail McNerny is the gal-pal, the wing-woman, the she-BFF. Abby is convinced no one on earth could ever entice her into a romantic relationship...except that one guy she’s loved since preschool.

Great Story... had so much fun
this book is my favorite so far, so funny and I love a Nerdy funny comedy, I'm sorry to say this but Joy's voice for my liking is little too dramatic and aggressive, she does sound like she has a cold on the most important parts and sooooo very needy. the story is amazing, wish her voice wasn't on most of the book series .. Chris on the other Hand, he is spot on.... I could hear him 24/7 he is amazing, I'm in love with his voice.

Great series
I’ve just finished this third book in the series. I am thoroughly enjoying the listen. Each book has the same characters plus additional new characters specific to that books story. So each new book is like meeting up with old friends that have a new story to tell. You get to know each of the brothers better with each book. Very enjoyable. I’m off to the fourth book now!

Great addition to the series
With each entry Penny Reid effortlessly engages the reader making them more and more involved in the lives and loves of the Winston family. Cleetus' story was easily the best yet.

My favourite in the whole series!
I loved Cletus’s personality since book 1 and for him to have his whole book was amazing! He’s so charming and always seems to know how to make a situation better. I would love to have my own Cletus.
I loved how Jennifer and Cletus were opposites in a way but they fit each other like a puzzle.
I honestly wasn’t expecting Jennifer to get a book just because of the snippets we got of her as the “banana queen”. But beyond that title she is so much more, and I really treasure her. I can’t imagine the things she suffered through, she’s so strong and I’m so happy for her.
I’m so happy I chose to listen to these books. The narrators are beyond talented and they truly bring these books and characters to life.

so good
I really enjoyed this story. It was a pleasant continuation of the series. My only struggle with it was that the narrator sounded like she had a cold at some points... it was distracting.
