About this listen

Twenty years ago, a boy named Jack Sawyer traveled to a parallel universe called the Territories to save his mother and her “Twinner” from an agonizing death that would have brought cataclysm to the other world. Now Jack is a retired Los Angeles homicide detective living in the nearly nonexistent hamlet of Tamarack, Wisconsin. He has no recollection of his adventures in the Territories, and he was compelled to leave the police force when a happenstance event threatened to awaken those long suppressed and dangerous memories.

When a series of gruesome murders occur in western Wisconsin that are reminiscent of those committed several decades earlier, Jack’s buddy, the local chief of police, begs Jack to help find the killer. But are these new killings merely the work of a disturbed individual, or has a mysterious and malignant force been unleashed in this quiet town? What causes Jack’s inexplicable waking dreams - if that is what they are - of robins’ eggs and red feathers? As these cryptic messages becomes impossible to ignore, Jack is drawn back to the Territories and to his own hidden past.

Great story, fantastic narrator

Narrator really brings this great work to life, truly professional. Could even give Henry Leyden a run for his money. Case closed, zip up your fly.

Black House

Read it as hard cover, then as paper back (more than once) and now as audiobook. Have always loved this series. I desperately want to see more, as the authors elude to Jack Sawyer being needed for more work against the dark tower in the Territories. Jack has to be one of my favourite characters.

And I will listen to anything Frank Muller reads. It is our loss at his passing. He pulls you right into the story.

When the books makes you sit in your car long after you arrive home after a hard day at work, you know the creators of the work have done their job, and a great job it is.

The Black House and The Talisman will always be two of my favourites and go to books.

great

I absolutely love the way this ties into the dark tower. had I known the tie in was that strong, I would have read it years ago.

I'm going to have to go back and list to all the dark tower series.now to find the tie in from that side.

Great sequel to The Talisman.

Really enjoyed this, as it was a nice sequel to The Talisman, which I read years ago but was thrilled to discover and listen to on Audible. After losing my eyesight, I thought books were forever gone for me.
I LOVE the narrator, I’ll listen to everything he does, as he does an excellent job. The way he made the voices of different people come alive, how creepy he made “Bern Bern” and His otherworld companion, he does such a great job of giving these characters voices, making the books come alive. seriously a fan of the narrator, give him a good story like these books, and listen. 5 stars all around.
