Paul Boehmer did a good job at differentiating the voices and adding a southern drawl to the characters.

Honestly, I don't have too much to say about this book. It was... okay. I was more saddened for Michael than horrified at anything happening. All the abuse he suffered and mind games his brother played at Michael's expense brought about emotions of pity, sympathy, and left me disheartened.

I found the ending, while satisfying, to be bitter sweet. While there were moments of justice, overall it wasn't the comeback I had hoped for Michael. That's how it goes sometimes, though. If someone lends you the book or you can get it from a library, it's not a bad book to go through. However, I won't be purchasing a physical copy. Also, you have to be in the headspace to read this kind of book, so fair warning to those of you who pick it up.

I really wanted to like this book, but it took me 4 months to finish it, and I'm so confused. Way too much confusion.

I can’t tell you if the writing is good. This whole book just shocks you over and over again. It keeps you engaged or totally distraught. Disturbed and twisty at every corner. When you start to make connections, they are ones you really hope you’re wrong. If you’re looking for dark and twisted, you’ve got it.
