Andrew McCarthy grows concerned for his family after he catches a young man, Zachary Denton, photographing his daughter, Grace McCarthy, and other children at a park. I’m a huge fan of extreme horror but even I had a hard time getting through some of the first few scenes. I did find the narration irritating and almost robot-like. It was a little unusual. But overall recommended if you can handle very graphic scenes of violent torture.

I went into this book knowing the disturbing and sensitive nature of the story. My triggers weren't met, not sure if that's good or bad considering the subject matter lol. That being said some parts were still very tough to listen to especially coming from the POV of the villain. Overall it was it was a good read.

Lemme preface by saying, if you get past chapter 3, you’re in the clear.

It’s more gore than anything, I wish it was a little bit more realistic, the story is absolutely there, but felt rushed. I wish that there were more details surrounding the characters. I got teary-eyed a little bit, but I don’t agree with the ending. I wish it was something different— with everything “we” went through in the book, I wish it was a different outcome.

But, I did stay hooked, and I’m super glad I bought it! I’m not entirely disappointed. 7/10 💕

im literally out of words!

Sigh. . .there were a lot of intense moments! chapter 3 never left my noggin, i hate that I keep on picturing it, its disturbing to the point where i had to skip some of it because i know that it will take me a while to move on.

The final pages of the book was definitely fucked up! i was sad for Andrew and his family, and disgusted about what ended up happening to his daughter! it reminded me that there are a lot of sickos out there, and to always be vigilant!

I knew going into this book that it would be tough, but I’m glad I stuck through it. Very hard to listen to at points, but as a mom to a young child, it also got me into the mindset of how to properly teach my child about what grooming looks like. So valuable but hard.
