About this listen
The wildly popular YouTube personality and author of the New York Times best seller My Drunk Kitchen is back! This time she's stirring up memories and tales from her past.
By combing through the journals that Hannah has kept for much of her life, this collection of narrative essays delivers a fuller picture of her life, her experiences, and the things she's figured out about family, faith, love, sexuality, self-worth, friendship, and fame.
Revealing what makes Hannah tick, this sometimes cringeworthy, poignant collection of stories is sure to deliver plenty of Hannah's wit and wisdom - and hopefully encourage you to try your hand at her patented brand of reckless optimism.
Personal note:
Hello, my darlings! I am incredibly pleased to present Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded!
As a big fan of memoirs, I wanted to try my hand at writing about the events of my life that deserve a little more consideration than can be accomplished in 140 characters or a six-minute vlog. Now on the cusp of turning 30, I'm ready to expose some parts of my life that I haven't shared before. Before, it was all about privacy, process, and time. And now the time has come! I'm ready to put myself out there for you.
I'm a little nervous about all these vulnerable words going into the world, these tales about my love life, the wrestling I've done with faith, how I feel about sex and my family and myself. I've had a lot of trials, a lot of errors, but also a lot of passion. Here's the thing: I've always found comfort in the stories shared by others, so I hope my stories, now that I feel ready to tell them, will bring you some comfort, too.
And when you listen to this book, please remember: Buffering is just the time it takes to process.
Enjoy!
Love,
Hannah

Heartfelt and emotional
You get to see a side of Hannah that you never do online. Although she comes off as honest, funny and intelligent, it was hard learning how she got to where she is. But it was needed, I left with so much more after reading this book.

loved it!
This book really spoke to me in a way I didn't think it would. I didn't think I would so strongly relate to her stories... I grew up in poverty, too and quite frankly, I had no idea that anyone shared my experiences. I really did think I was the only one who lived their entire childhood in extreme poverty and mess, because that was my normal, my everyday. It's so humbling and comforting to hear her stories and it really inspired me after finishing this book.

Love this book
I’m not always into autobiographies, but this one has most definitely changed my perspective. Wonderfully written and intriguing the entire way through.

A Genuine Emotional Rollercoaster
This book made me cry, smile, laugh, and cry some more. As a queer, mentally ill person from a broken, and at times abusive family, this book resonated with me in a way no other book has; an impressive feat considering the amount of books I’ve read. In this book I saw myself, my friends and my family. Most importantly, I saw a genuine reflection of a reality shared by many. Buffering was not a story of hope and success, nor was it a story about despair and struggle. It was a story about life and how complex and contradictory it is. Buffering does not leave you with a false sense that everything is going to be alright if you just try hard enough and stay positive! Instead it promises that there will be struggles ahead, and that life will be full of inequities and unfairness, but that as surely as those moments of strife will come again, so too will moments of joy and success, and that it is never too late to try to better equip yourself to deal with both the highs and the lows ahead.
