Let's start from scratch (Again)

This story is starting to get a little draining. Instead of allowing a slow burn in power fantasy it's 0 to 100 then 0 again to 100 again the 0 again to 100 again. I'm beginning to wonder if the author just wanted to start writing a new book with the same character so they don't need to work on world building and character development again.
