About this listen

Alien nano machines grant everyone stats and levels...while giving rise to a new race of cybernetic horrors. Human civilizations crumbles, a crushed alien ship their only hope.

As a martial arts instructor, Nori has always had a simple purpose in life: Help underprivileged kids build confidence and self-discipline. Now she'll have to do so for everyone else, too.

It all started with a mist, one that gave everyone stats and levels, but also disabled technology and transformed animals and humans into cybernetic horrors that preyed on the living. Within months of its inception, civilization had crumbled.

When Nori and two terrified students find a crushed alien spacecraft, they also find a glimmer of hope. Though damaged and barely functional, the vessel presents mankind with its first chance to retake the world from the unrelenting monsters. Using the new System, a vast universe of possibilities beckons them to restore and upgrade the ship into becoming humanity's new beacon of hope…but only if they can survive the relentless onslaught of mutated beasts.

Creative and well-read

I found these books to be an excellent story. Interesting, creative, and well-described the books kept my imagination busy.

Jeff Hays as the narrator only added to the story.

Well Done, Shemer on another great series! Another captivating audio track from you, Jeff.

Started slow, turned out enjoyable.

I've read the Life reset series by the same author. This one, book 1 is fairly slow and average. Book 2 gets better as more characters are introduced and there's more comedy. Book 3 is the best one. Overall for 1 credit it's worth it.

I'm a big fan of Jeff Hayes, but in this series he just sounds uninterested at times.

good building to a great climax

approaching the end i couldn't see how it could be a satisfactory ending in the amount of time left, and the author still managed to pull it off. i hope for sequel series going forward

junkfood for the brain

Its not that well written and all the characters are incredibly 1 dimensional. So much so that every character has a narrow role in the story that only they can fill. Its junkfood at best if you already like the litrpg genre. The author has an annoying habit of using descriptives to refer to peoples actions "the young man said" or "the tall lady yelled" constantly.

note: the author seems to know nothing about guns or ammunition but writes about it a lot. Things like making .22 calibre rounds for everyones assault rifles or loading the same 50 cal rounds into a shotgun, rifles, and pistols. I know this can be frustrating for some, I care little and its still jarring to me.

Boring

love the narrator, but I found the story to be boring. Audible won't let me return it unfortunately.
