Publisher's Summary

The Earth lies shaken in the aftermath of a conspiracy. Some of the smartest minds on the planet have striven for and died in an effort to scour the skies of four vast alien satellites, but their success has brought a terrible vengeance down upon us.

While alien agents stalk the Earth, a team of exhausted scientists and military outcasts struggle to fight them among a planet on the brink - the brink of plague, the brink of war, and the brink of an invasion larger than they can possibly imagine. But they have allies. Two of the alien agents have forsaken their homes, their families, and their very species to stop the greatest act of genocide any of them has ever known. They carry with them the knowledge we need to save humanity and take us into a new and marvelous age.

But Lana and the remaining enemy agents are far from defeated. As they begin to reap havoc among the diseased and bereft, Neal, Ayala, and Barrett must find a way to achieve the impossible - by fair means or foul, they must unite the world's disparate nations. And they must do so quickly, for the Armada is fast approaching, and behind the great fires of their decelerating engines, the huge fleet is readying itself for war.

Amazing story, amazing reader.

I'm not usually one for typical alien invasion stories, and this isn't one. this is far better, with espionage, spying, crazy fights, advanced technology, and a story that is actually believable. Definitely recommended.
Read by R.C. Bray, he really does a good job of reading the story and pausing in the right places to ensure you know what's going on. although he has a kind of gruff voice, he has different voices for each character which really brings the story to life.

Full Trilogy Review, Book 2 of 3

Much better than book 1, by miles. The exitement lasts throughout this book and it grips the emotions much better. There are fewer parts of this book that hold no sway in character development or story development, unlike book 1, but they're still there to slow down the story. R.C. Bray's performance makes this a book stand out as something amazing and special. However, his stellar performance in book 3 can't lift it past the terrible it is. Look for my review on Fear the Future.

Keeps getting better

R.C. Bray is amazing as always in his delivery. The story itself keeps getting better and I have thoroughly enjoyed book 2 even more than book 1.

Interesting - still a good sci-fi

Like the overall story, looking forward to hear the third book. Characters are interesting but short... after all it’s a pretty big group and so many lines to follow.
The technical takes over and gets pretty heavy so it becomes . . . Well you know. The narrator is great but with all that dry technical . .. well kudos to him for keeping me going.

terminator 3 meets ID2 meets Enders Game

with a smattering of inappropriate , I hate to use this term - pedophilia- just some creepy AF statements by characters or thoughts by a character... ewwww

overall a good story but with WAAAAAAY to much clancy-esq minutiae , waaaaaaaaay to much

did I say waaaaay too much minutiae, maybe the term here is verbose -

the overuse - and I mean overuse of metaphors and similes really suggests an immature writing style, like one isn't good enough because the readers of sci-fi don't have Imaginations

then there's the repetitive verbs, adverbs and adjectives ... another reviewer suggested a drinking game, I heartily agree, one suggestion for the author ... right click- thesaurus.... seriously

the only reason I might listen to the 3rd is I like the concept of the story, the take over by Neil - predictable- at the end has me intrigued to see what happens

oh, RC as usual is awesome

Captivating story all the way through.

One if the best storytelling. I went through the first two in basically a week.

Great second instalment to the fear saga.

Loved the follow up and I encourage you to continue with the saga. It was well paced and I didn’t expect how the writer would play out the antagonists but I was happily surprised with how the story turned out.

As always RC Bray is a elder statesmen as narrator and keeps you engaged with the diversity to which he changes characters! He never fails to impress when he narrates.

Great trilogy and a good follow up to book 1.
