About this listen

Dragons. Right.

Teenage girls don't believe in fairy tales, and 16-year-old Elena Watkins was no different - until the night a fairy tale killed her father. Now Elena's in a new world and a new school. The cutest guy around may be an evil dragon, a prince wants Elena's heart, and a long-dead sorcerer may be waking up to kill her. Oh, and the only way Elena's going to graduate is on the back of a dragon of her own.

Teenage girls don't believe in fairy tales. Now it's time for Elena to believe - in herself.

Great teen book

Thoroughly enjoyed the book: character development was good, well thought out fantasy world, and plot was well written.

Has some adult content about characters talking about virginity, but didn’t go into detail.

I couldn’t stop once I started!!!

This book made me write my very first review on audible!! For one there is a lead character that’s not annoying and is smart. I’m loving the progression and build of each character. Can’t wait to read the book 2.

loved this entire series, better than the Twilight

This definitely fits into the young-adult genre, but fantastic world-building and character-building. I enjoyed all five of these books in the series. The fifth book was a little long-winded, but it wrapped up the series nicely.
I truly hope that this will be turned into a movie or a Disney miniseries, a multi-episode, multi-seasonal project because I think it will do well across multiple demographics. it truly was a fantastic coming-of-age series...
I hate to say it, but it honestly was nice to have a series that wasn't saturated in political correctness, not everything has to have gender fluidity or even racial fluidity or in this case, species fluidity, which it had plenty of in this series. I'm not a hater at all, I just believe in balanced storytelling.
I have heard multiple communities say to other communities or even traditionalists, if you don't like it, you don't need to read it or watch it.
I truly enjoy the series, again thank you, Ms. Woods.

Entertaining!

The narrator was good at multiple voices, and held your attention. The storyline kept you listening. Can't wait to start the second book.

Excellent!

Love this narrator. I enjoyed her in another series and found those series that she’s done! This book is great and look forward to continuing this series

Interesting so far

Why does she have to be 16? Not at least 18. 16 is just so young! In my head I have to think of her as older as I get creeped out by the 16 year olds talking about sex. Then for her to have to be such a kick ass character it’s just not as believable being 16.

The storyline is interesting enough I’ve already guessed the big truth bombs they will probably drop in the next.

Who her parents actually were, who she’s destined to be with and bonded with are all kinda in your face. But I’m enjoying it enough to know going even though it’s juvenile.
