Publisher's Summary

The life of a star-studded royal has not been kind to 18-year-old Elena Watkins. With a Council breathing down her neck and a dragon that refuses to accept her as her rider, she must convince everyone that she is ready to rule Paegeia like her parents before her. But she has made a promise to her father King Albert, that she will not go looking for him and free the people of Etan. Elena has promised to never truly fulfill her destiny.

However, situations out of her control will soon force her to confront herself and the evil that seeks to destroy her. Elena must look inside herself to discover if she can defeat the approaching darkness, be accepted by the people of Paegeia, bring her dragon back to light, and fulfill the destiny written in their stars.

Good to hard to listen to at times *trigger warning gang rape*

This was a hard book I liked it but didn’t love it, so much could have been avoided if there was open communication but there so much lying and withholding of information it can get frustrating.

I’ve never read a book that takes so long to get the main characters together, sometimes I just wanted to scream at them 🤦‍♀️

I knew where she was and understand her character was learning & growing but
*Spoiler*** trigger Warning ⚠️
The gang rape scene made me so sick, I wish the writer wouldn’t have put that in there***

Her and Blake go on a 30 day quest and she becomes a champion for the people but they still don’t talk it just becomes annoying when after how many books they still can’t tell the truth or talk openly.

Well there’s only one book left so they will have no choice!

Good read - spoiler revealed with this review

So far I have been enjoying the series, the twists and turns of events helps make the story unpredictable. However I would still rate this as an adult read due to the harsh swearing and the trumatic event that is inflected on the main character (rape - sorry for the spoiler!). So read with caution. I do love how Elena recieves help from her loved ones and a professional that deals with these emotional challenges. I do appreciate that the writer involved something that is often hushed up so much in society; but if I was a reader with a background that has experienced this, I’m not sure if it would create a trigger or help with closure. Just wanted to share this so as a potential reader you can decide for yourself.

Couldn't put down!!

There was just a little where the chatter was drawn out (very little). this was the first novel EVER... to have me to tears and at another point have a hard time with sobbing as I was trying not to cry. One more novel, then more? I want another PLEASE! At least similar type of story. BUT Erin Moon.... must be narrator! best ever!
