About this listen

Danger in the air. Lovers on the brink.

A Charm of Magpies, Book 3: With the justiciary understaffed, a series of horrifying occult murders to be investigated, and a young student who is flying - literally - off the rails, magical law enforcer Stephen Day is under increasing stress. And his relationship with his aristocratic lover, Lord Crane, is beginning to feel the strain. Crane chafes at the restrictions of England's laws, and there's a worrying development in the blood-and-sex bond he shares with Stephen. A development that makes a sensible man question if they should be together at all.

When a thief strikes at the heart of Crane's home, a devastating loss brings his closest relationships into bitter conflict - especially his relationship with Stephen. And as old enemies, new enemies, and unexpected enemies paint the lovers into a corner, the pressure threatens to tear them apart.

Warning: Contains hot-blooded sex, cold-blooded murder, sinister magical goings-on, and a lot of swearing.

Sad That The Trilogy Is Over!

I'm genuinely sad that this trilogy has ended. I know that this is going to be an oft-re-listened-to series, because I simply adored it.

The characters, Lucien and Stephen, are delightfully strong, yet vulnerable at the same time. It's been a joy to see their relationship grow and evolve through the series.

The plot is engaging and exciting, with magical dangers that keep you eagerly awaiting more. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Loved this so much.

I read the books before I listened to them, so I had high expectations, and Chris Cornell met them wonderfully. His performance was brilliant, the voices for each character perfect. Highly recommend listening.

Romance & Mystery (with a side dish of Angst)

A lovely stirring of mystery & romance in a magical realism Victorian setting.

I am actually sad that this is the last in the series for Day and Crane.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy of books.

Lovely bonus short story at the end.
