About this listen

Jim Dale's Grammy Award-winning performance of J.K. Rowling's iconic stories is a listening adventure for the whole family.

'There is a plot, Harry Potter. A plot to make most terrible things happen at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year.'

Close your eyes and enter the magical world of Harry Potter. In these editions, Jim Dale's characterful narration is so entertaining, fun, and theatrical you can almost hear the crackle of the fire in the Gryffindor common room.

Harry Potter's summer has included the worst birthday ever, doomy warnings from a house-elf called Dobby, and rescue from the Dursleys by his friend Ron Weasley in a magical flying car! Back at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his second year, Harry hears strange whispers echo through empty corridors - and then the attacks start. Students are found as though turned to stone... Dobby's sinister predictions seem to be coming true.

Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter stories never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new listeners.

Harry Potter 👌

his impressions are good a tad bit of forest Gump, but don't let that distract from the magic

Amazing!

Even though this is my 7th favourite book of the series, I still absolutely love it.

The movie still did a pretty good job on the Chamber of Secrets even though they took out some pretty awesome scenes like the Valentine's day party, Ginny's poem, and Arthur Weasely and Lucius Malfoy's fight. I did not think the directors of the movies though Ginny relevant in the entire series so they cut most of her scenes throughout the movies, but little did they know ;).
So many great things happen in the books that make Harry's relationship with his friends and foes so much more intense. In this book, you realize some Hufflepuffs can be real jerks as well as Draco Malfoy.

Snape is also a terrible character along with the little Malfoy boy. The movies make them look a lot nicer and easier to love, but in the books, they are sadistic and terrible. Again the movies fail to show Ron's wit which has painted a worse image of him in the books.

This book may seem not needed, but little do reader know that in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the events that happen in the chamber of secrets not only shape Ginny's personality but is extremely important in defeating Lord Voldemort in the end. You cannot skip this or any of the books as they all tie together into a perfect little picture. I promise this will not be my last time reading.
