Publisher's Summary

All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Best-selling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

For decades, Burke has been studying accounts of survivors brought back from near death who lived to tell of both heavenly and hellish experiences. While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors - including doctors, college professors, bank presidents, people of all ages and cultures, and even blind people - point to the exhilarating picture of heaven promised in the Bible.

This thrilling journey into the afterlife will make you feel like you've been there. It will forever change the way you view the life to come and the way you live your life today. You'll discover heaven is even more amazing than you've ever imagined.

such an amazing faith building book

before reading this book, I was really struggling to love God. The more and more I listened the more and more, the more I was reminded of how much God truly loves us so deeply and individually. I encourage anyone who's struggling with doubt read this book!

Narrator’s voice acting makes me wish he had not tried to do so

Really enjoyed this book while physically reading it but not so much this narrator’s voice. It would’ve been fine if he had not tried to “act” the voices, that was a big turn off.

Very encouraging.

I loved the multiple stories, and the groupings of common near death experience, experiences. I think the chapter on hell was really important. Thanks for doing all that research and presenting it in an easy to understand!

Good, but distracting...

This is an audiobook, not a theatre. The reader attempts to imitate each quotation... not well. This amazing book requires a re-read. Books of this nature ride a razor's edge-- they tell the truth but can come across as preachy and tacky. The book isn't tacky-- its really good, but the reading makes it so.

Good book, ok narration

The only thing weird about this book is the narrator does unnecessary though hilarious impersonations of the peoples narratives from time to time. Eg putting on an Indian accent or talking like a little girl, or faking a speech impediment for a young boy. Not bad apart from that! Enjoyed the book 5/5

Interesting subject

The narrator changed his voice to imitate different characters which was distracting. Otherwise a good book.

Read after wife/mother passed away

My 3 daughters, all in their 30’s, and I read this book after Carol suddenly passed away. It built up our faith and became the initiator of so many conversations allowing us all to not only greave but gain a much higher perspective. Anyone suffering the loss of a loved one should read this book.

Inspiring and eye opening

Loved the book and it deserves 5 stars but the publisher should have the book reread by a different narrator.
