About this listen
Jack is violently pulled into a game-like universe and dumped into a seaside town on the brink of destruction. When the people of Blackmoor Cove begin to ask about his combat role, Jack discovers his odd Hero Class and finds that parts of his game interface are riddled with exposed coding errors.
He quickly learns that the only way the town can grow and push back the unknown substance threatening to consume it is if brave Heroes venture into an infinitely high, ever-changing tower, kill bizarre monsters for their valuable equipment drops, and then deposit those items into a special chest.
As Jack struggles to level up and help save the people he has grown to care for, he learns the true nature of this simulated world and his destiny.... But can he overcome his reckless nature and become the leader this strange world needs?
This “crunchy” GameLIT/LitRPG story contains: item-based game mechanics, town building, countless unique monsters, boss fights, and cheaty special abilities.

It’s a pretty good start
Well this story is quite good, there was a few annoyances for me but nothing terrible.
The narration team are Rock Stars, amazing as always!
The Good: I found the plot to be quite good and well thought out, the pace was good, the mc was pretty good and relatable, the side characters are actually quite good themselves and very interesting, the world building is top notch, the magic and skill system is quite simple yet interesting and effective, this is not a cultivation story. There is one thing that annoyed me quite a bit until I thought on it. You may or may have found this irritating. For the first half of the book the mc seems so helpless and often times annoying to the point that I was saying out loud come on and get on with it already, there’s clearly obvious things he should be doing but takes forever to do the correct thing. So after some thought I realized this author is quite good to the point he was able to make the mc’s situation seem real and I would have done all the annoying things he did when he finds himself in such an odd life changing situation. Well done Prax
The bad:
Not much, the only thing I could do without is the sound effects of them eating, why would you think that is a good idea sound booth? At least there’s not much eating sound effects.
Overall a great story from an amazing team of people, I will be continuing with this series

Slow start, but enjoyable ride.
It took a few hours for me to get properly invested into the story, but once it hooked in I thoroughly began to enjoy it.

Terrible start
The opening sucks. For the first dozen chapters everyone treats the mc like a useless idiot and they act like complete dbags. Not a fan of cheating in these game simulation books since it sours every accomplishment the character achieves. Unfortunately the mc is a massive cheat. He has a cheat weapon that can constantly grow stronger as it absorbs drops which also circumvents the worlds loot laws. He can also summon the games ai as a minion to fight for him and alter the game to help him. At that point only a moron could lose so wheres the suspense. My biggest gripe tho is that the mc is a worthless doormat. People constantly treat him like dirt walking all over him and he doesn't stick up for himself once. How is a person brave enough to fight monsters but not stand up for himself? And the only time he gets frustrated and lashes out is at the person who's helped him the most, he's a real tool.
